Editoral Assistant

Creative Lives  in Progress is an inclusive creative careers resource on a mission to transform the way emerging talent access, understand and connect with the industry. We encourage greater openness, transparency and representation within the creative working world by sharing important advice and insight through content and events, and connecting emerging talent to valuable entry-level opportunities.
We are looking for someone wanting to build upon their editorial experience and learn more about the day-to-day running of an editorial platform. This role is perfectly suited to those with an enthusiasm for creating engaging editorial and social content and helping fellow emerging creatives find their way in the industry. Tasks will include some writing, editing and research, as well as assisting with social media, newsletters and special projects.
This person will have a strong interest in creative work (e.g. design, advertising, illustration, photography, filmmaking, animation) and they will work with the editorial and project management teams to deliver inspiring and insightful content.
This role will be both remote and based in our studio in Dalston, London (N1 5AA), which we share with our sister companies It’s Nice That and Anyways Creative.

We encourage greater transparency and representation within the creative working world by sharing advice and insight, highlighting entry-level opportunities, as well as hosting events that bring talent and industry together.

Key tasks 

  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of the website and collaborative projects
  • Researching and coming up with article ideas
  • Contributing to the Journal, including pitching, writing, editing, research and picture editing
  • Helping to run our social media accounts
  • Assisting with our weekly newsletters
  • Assisting with our Opportunities Board

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

  • Have a keen interest and experience in writing and editing 
  • Have an enthusiasm for creative work and the creative industry
  • Love getting stuck into a challenge
  • Are proactive, self-motivated and can manage your time
  • Are a good communicator
  • Have a strong interest in social media and digital publishing

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.

To be eligible to apply you must be aged 18 – 24 and claiming universal credit.
