Barcroft Studios (part of Future PLC) are one of the world’s leading producers of short-form factual and social content, creating and distributing digital content for huge global audiences, brands, clients and platforms. Known as the home of amazing true stories, Truly is the home of hit series including Born Different, Hooked On The Look, My Extraordinary Family, and Transformed, which amass millions of views every month on Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat.

In this role, you’ll be asked to come up with ideas for new shows and strands - from 90minute feature docs for Netflix to 5-minute formats for Snapchat (and everything in between!).

You’ll help write pitch decks and treatments, find amazing contributors and stories and search out exciting new talent for us to collaborate with.

You’ll be involved in the full development process - from brainstorming ideas with the rest of the development team to preparing pitch decks and sizzles and attending shoots where possible.

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

You’ll be creative, driven, full of ideas and have an interest in stories about real people.

A knowledge of and interest in social media platforms is important, not just because that’s where most of the content we make will be published, but also as that’s where we find most of our contributors.

Being organised is a big part of the job, as you’ll be handling lots of treatments and contributor notes and as you’ll be interviewing potential contributors by phone and video calls it’s important you’re a confident talker.

We’ll help you improve your treatment writing skills but you’ll need good written English to start off with and this will also be essential for you to complete contributor background check for the Producers.

Most importantly, we’d like you to be open-minded and come with your own ideas about all types of video content. We value creativity from every member of our team and we hope you’ll be a key source of new ideas, thoughts and opinions.

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.

To be eligible to apply you must be aged 18 – 24 and claiming universal credit.
