Production Intern

We are currently offering an internship within our Production team. It’s important, with any internship, that we remain flexible and able to respond to the talents and ambitions of the candidate. This role could be with either our Editorial or our Operational team. To some extent, it will depend on the prior experience and interests of the candidate.

Working closely with the Editorial and/or Operational teams in Production, you will gain an overall understanding of the Production process at Acamar and in animation, and would potentially work on a specific project to gain an in-depth knowledge in that particular area.

We are currently attending the office once a week, and this may increase to twice later in the year. You may be required to attend studios also, once or twice a week. Our office is located in Camden, London NW1.

Acamar Films is an award-winning television production and distribution company with a growing international mission to create iconic content.

Founded in 2005, Acamar Films is the creator of the hit pre-school series ‘Bing’.

Since its debut on the BBC in 2014, Acamar’s hit pre-school series Bing has gone on to achieve considerable international success, with highlights including winning an International Emmy and Writers Guild Award as well as being a BAFTA nominee; distributed to 130 territories globally; the number one most requested pre-school title on BBC iPlayer; gained three billion lifetime views on YouTube, and we have launched the Bing App, with 1 million downloads within 18 months.

In addition, Acamar has grown our strategic rights licensing arm, exploiting Bing’s IP rights internationally. There are now 5,000 Bing licensed products and formats including toys, games, books, theme parks, live events and digital products.

During your time with us, you would move between our different Production functions (Editorial, Video, Sound, International Versions and Technical Assets) which will give you a deep knowledge and understanding of how different disciplines play their part in this project.

You will work with the Editorial and/or Operational Production team to gain knowledge of the production process, input ideas, video and sound editing, administrative duties, and liaise with other Production Assistant(s) and the wider Production Team and Company where necessary.

Tasks could also include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting cast members, and at times running errands for them
  • Attending recording, mix and review sessions
  • Sitting in on casting discussions
  • Assisting with note taking and distribution, where required
  • Conducting research, where required; Working on script checks (log lines and dialogue)
  • Assisting with archiving when the production is finished
  • Supporting team members as and when required and directed
  • Scheduling and diary planning where required
  • Proofreading and checking key production documents where required
  • Assisting in editorial discussions .

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

  • Possess a basic understanding of spreadsheets (e.g Excel/Google Sheets) and trackers
  • Have good working knowledge of Google Workspace/Microsoft computer packages
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, as well as listen to, understand and interpret information and instructions accurately. 
  • Be adaptable and flexible in coping with rapidly changing circumstances and have the ability to prioritise and exercise excellent editorial judgement as circumstances change
  • Have a desire to work in animation and/or TV production
  • Be solution-orientated and think logically and creatively to resolve issues
  • Have the ability to work under your own initiative and remain calm under pressure
  • Most importantly, the successful candidate will be strongly aligned with Acamar core values, which include: Collaboration, creativity, curiosity, diversity, and kindness
