Breaks is a creative agency based in East London working with clients including Nike, New Balance, Dr. Martens, Converse, Levis and New Era.

The Creative Assistant position at Breaks is designed to bring smart new faces into our business.

Welcoming individuals without formal agency experience and non-traditional experiences, assistantship allows talented individuals to join our business and work across all areas of our business.

Breaks has a flexible working from home policy and has no requirement for employees to work from the studio on Old Street. This space is however open to employees, including the Creative Assistant, should they require or want access to a professional studio space.

Breaks Agency Ltd

Based within the creative department at Breaks, the Creative Assistant will work under the stewardship of the Creative Director and the six-person strong creative team.

Their responsibilities will be diverse and day-to-day tasks will be highly varied – across disciplines including copywriting, visual researching, design and art direction.

In any typical week, Breaks will be navigating projects including photo shoots, television adverts, social media campaigns and retail installations for some of the world’s biggest fashion and lifestyle clients.

The Creative Assistant will be required to be heavily involved in a broad spectrum of work.

A wider understanding of the creative industry will be offered through ad hoc opportunities to support other departments in the business including the Production and Project Management teams.

The assistantship provides the opportunities to flex a wide array of skills and work across an even wider range of projects.

The six-month programme provides both the Creative Assistant and our business the time and space to get to know one another and to identify the best path forward for any prospective employee – whether as an Art Director, Project Manager or any other role within our industry.

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

The role also asks that you:

  • Are keen and have an interest in the sportswear, fashion, music, technology and lifestyle industries
  • Can showcase a track record of self-initiated creative projects or enterprises
  • Offer enthusiasm and an open mind

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.

To be eligible to apply you must be aged 18 – 24 and claiming universal credit.
