The digital media assistant will work within It’s Nice That’s digital team, delivering work to support its strategies across social media, newsletters, audience development and its membership platform Extra Nice. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills in media publishing and digital communications for an online publisher embedded within the creative industry.

The role is predominately remote-based working, with the option of using our studio based in Haggerston, East London if you require a space to work from. You may be occasionally required to visit the studio for team meetings or workshops during your 6-month placement, which will be organised well in advance. From January we may require applicant to work within the office two days a week but can be flexible depending on location.

The key responsibilities include:

Writing and scheduling social media content across It’s Nice That’s core channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Developing copywriting skills in line with our TOV.

Curating and editing images for It’s Nice That’s social media feeds. Learning the nuances of image and creative selection to encourage audience engagement.

Researching and reporting on media trends to participate in content and strategy workshops. Developing presentation skills and how to develop ideas in a group setting.

Editing and building newsletters in Mailchimp to send to our growing subscriber base. Learning the process and principles behind good email marketing and content selection.

Assist in managing and developing social-first features on It’s Nice That’s Instagram channel. Developing skills in talent collaboration and content delivery.

Engaging with our audience across social channels. Learning how to communicate and elevate audience responses to keep our community engaged.

Assisting on reports to measure digital performance against project KPIs. Learning how to set and manage performance metrics which align with company targets.

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

It’s Nice That is looking for a proactive, creatively minded individual who’s excited to learn about digital and social media communications. The ideal candidate will showcase skills within the following points:

Experience

Experience in social media for a platform, business or project, demonstrating a solid understanding on how social and other digitals channels operate.
Experience in copywriting or editorial writing, with excellent written and proofing capabilities.
Experience in using photoshop and Indesign at a basic level, with the capability to resize, edit and develop creative assets.
Experience in reporting on media KPIs, demonstrating a knowledge of what metrics are used to calculate performance across various digital channels.

A genuine passion for digital media, with a keen eye on trends emerging across new and existing channels.
A solid understanding of the creative industry, with a strong knowledge of media platforms which support creative culture.
A passion for creativity and idea generation, aligning with our company values to champion creativity across everything we do.

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.
