Touch Digital is one of Europes leading post production companies founded in 1999.

This job role is providing admin and production support for the team of digital re-touchers.

This position will give you the opportunity to work within the creative environment and assist in the creation of imagery for global fashion magazines and advertising campaigns.

Touch was founded by Graeme Bulcraig. As of May 2015 he has been joined by Emma Tunstill and Ben Pickett as fellow Directors of the company.

Duties will cover Production and Studio administration.

Production Roles

  • Handling domestic and international couriers and updating relevant parties on status.
  • Updating job sheets with delivery and costs information
  • Handling incoming post to relevant staff members
  • Handling incoming negs / prints or HD and logging / keeping logs up to date Keeping RAW data server clean / out when needed . Logging out / returning negs / prints or HD 6 months after job complete
  • Checking filemaker / that details have been entered correctly
  • Sourcing files / drives for clients from archive when required

Studio Roles

  • Client Care & front of house - Initial face to face contact for clients as they arrive at TOUCH
  • Ensuring clients needs are met for drinks and food
  • Answering Phone / Door and passing to relevant departments
  • General upkeep of studio / office facilities and ensuring the studio is kept tidy and clear of clutter
  • Stock keeping for both the studio and printing
  • Social Media updates as needed on instagram and website

Basic Printing / CMYK Proofing Photoshop Production

  • Producing accurate proofs in GMG software by using correct settings Certify Proofs using software after training
  • Trimming / Packing in suitable methods for safe delivery of proofs and prints
  • Ensuring regular stock take and updating INKS and PAPER usage
  • Stock rotation for paper + inks and that all items are stored well and in the correct conditions
  • Profiling the printers after training. Resizing files and handling jpegs
  • Using Adobe Photoshop to batch process or convert files
  • Basic scanning on flat beds and training in neg scanning
  • Using Adobe Indesign to update PDF folios
  • Image Archiving - Adding meta-data and key-wording in database software

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

No previous experience or formal qualifications are required for this position.

However, it is essential that you have some experience of using Apple Mac computers and basic software such as Excel / Numbers and Word / Pages.

You will ideally have a passion for the arts in general and a strong interest in Photography

Experience or knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software would be an advantage but training will be given to bring you up to speed.

Good written and spoken communication skills also important to the role as well as being organised and methodical in process and delivery of work.

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.
