The Face won’t be about news feed culture, or covering a topic just because everyone else is doing it. It’s about championing new talent, committing to provocative journalism and pushing iconic visual design: all through the lens of style. It's about endless discovery – whether that's a new angle on a well- documented topic, or something that’s been previously untapped.

It’s a space for interactive, dynamic, multi-faceted stories that join the dots between high culture and pop culture, fashion and sport, art and technology, entertainment and society. It's an inclusive, global, cross-genre, cross-generational platform.

Wasted Talent is a global network of music and lifestyle media brands.

Our family includes the biggest and most influential music, culture and entertainment platforms: MIXMAG, KERRANG! and THE FACE. We create stories for brands who wish to innovate, inspire and connect with a global influential youth audience in an authentic way.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Write daily articles and features for The 
  • Manage all daily content uploads and to the The's CMS
  • Assist the Head of Operations with commercial and corporate activity  
  • Manage the digital editorial content calendar and daily scheduling publishing 
  • Pitch, concept and develop digital stories and content formats across print, digital, social, audio and video 
  • Transcribing, image sourcing, checking credits 
  • Understand what makes our content uniquely The Face - grasping the differences between us and our competitors - and ensuring all content output reflects this 
  • Work closely with the Digital Director to help develop The Face's multi-media digital content approach, to include video, audio and social formats 
  • Fact check, making sure no story goes up without being 100% correct and original 
  • Liaise with the accounts team regarding freelance invoices 
  • Work closely with the Social Editor to ensure that digital editorial content is shared and developed across multiple channels 
  • Build the site's reputation as the go-to source for music, fashion and culture 
  • Work on brand projects as and when requested 
  • Attend industry events when requested

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

We don’t care about school grades or industry connections. We’re looking for candidates full of ideas

and energy. If you’re interested in the world around you, have a passion for storytelling, expressing yourself creatively and an eagerness to learn, then this could be the program for you.

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.

To be eligible to apply you must be aged 18 – 24 and claiming universal credit.
