Office, Social Media & Editing Intern

PRETTYBIRD

Reporting to the Office Manager, you will get experience across a variety of tasks in supporting the team. What you will be doing with us will differ every week.

You will get experience working on film treatments (short documents that presents an idea for a film), helping out the production team with research, going out on set (if any shoots are happening while you are with us).

We are looking for someone who is highly creative, and is able to elevate the team’s creative output; whether that be by developing editing and/or adobe suite skills.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is interested in editing and who can help us out on the creative side of things, as well as be able to carry out administrative tasks too.

This role is offered as part of STEP

STEP is a training programme for young EastLondoners local to the Olympic Park, who are ready to bring ideas, creative energy and perspectives tothe creative and cultural sector. You must be:

  • Aged 18 to 30
  • Resident of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham or Waltham Forest, and lived in the boroughs whilst at school or college

Through STEP,you’ll get paid London Living Wageover a 12-month training programmetodevelop arange of skills and creative approaches and build on your network across different organisations or departments. You’ll complete a work-based placement, grow as part of a peer network, take part in regularprofessional development workshops, andgeta budgetto produce a collaborative project.

We’ll also connect youwith a specialist industry mentor, provide careers coaching and continue tooffersupport as part of our community after the programme.

As Office, Social Media & Editing Intern you will get a chance to learn and develop across a range of areas, tasks and responsibilities including;

  • Research for projects that are happening with us
  • Assisting on set with any duties required at shoots
  • Assisting with hospitality duties, welcoming any visitors and providing ongoing assistance with guests needs. Ensuring that any requests are dealt with and/or directed to the appropriate member of the team.
  • Ensuring that the telephone is answered in a timely and professional manner and transferred to the appropriate personnel or accurate messages are taken
  • Helping with travel itineraries, booking couriers & taxis to be overseen by Office Manager.
  • Provide support with video editing
  • Provide additional administrative duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, typing letters, meeting minutes and reports
  • Opportunity to get involved with marketing activities such as writing newsletters and keeping the social media posts pages updated with latest work
  • Assisting with gifts for clients over the holiday period
  • Keeping the office clean and general office duties such as tea/coffee rounds

  • Knowledge of and passion for the film, television, music or fashion industries
  • An interest in photography & film
  • Enthusiastic, trustworthy and reliable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good timekeeping
  • Ambitious and hardworking with a highly flexible attitude
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills
  • Outgoing people person who is keen to broaden professional network
  • Skilled in, or willing to develop skills in, Adobe Photoshop with retouching photography
  • And/or ability to transcode and edit in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Computer literate including reasonable standard of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient use of social media and online platforms as a source of research and engagement
